Let’s face it. Mammograms are no fun. At the Women’s Diagnostic Center of WMH, women have their own mammography suite. They can change their clothes and have their mammogram performed in one private area for their comfort and convenience.

Access to CAD technology for precise mammography readings

WMH has a program to connect Chautauqua County women to computer-aided detection (CAD) for mammography, a technology that helps radiologists detect breast cancer up to two years earlier than traditional mammography alone. Women receiving mammograms at the Women’s Diagnostic Center of WMH will have the added benefit of having their mammogram processed with the advanced technology of a CAD system in place at the Women’s Center at Saint Vincent in Erie, Pa. CAD serves as a second set of eyes for radiologists, often catching signs of cancer so small they are not visible to the naked eye. Computer-aided detection is a powerful and widely accepted tool which has received broad support from the American Cancer Society, the American College of Radiology, insurance companies and numerous patient advocacy groups.
